Busy...with nothing in particular.

So, it's been a little while since I updated, and I felt kind of bad about that. I mean, I fall off the posting wagon once in a while but I had a pretty good run there, no?

Well life has been busy with much ado about nothing. Daddy bean got a new job this week and we are all finally home together at about 7:00, by the time supper is made and consumed, small bean has done enough whining to warrent opening her own vinyard. About 8:00 the bed wrangling starts and by 9:00 we've gotten her jammies on, story read, teeth brushed, a drink of milk, a drink of water, and 3 rounds of hugs and kisses and one long debate about sleeping with inatimate objects such as princess books, hair clips, head bands, and armies of stuffed animals.

By 10:00 she actually falls asleep and then the grown-up debate about how long can we stay up and enjoy the peace and quiet while still getting enough sleep to function tomorrow begins.

Teen bean is in her last week of school and so there have been finals to study (?) for, a trip to Minnesota to plan for, and summer to anticipate.

Why the picture above? It was the only thing in my June folder so far besides the kitty pics. Sad, huh? That's a picture of my basil and rose plants I bought at Trader Joes (oh how I love thee, Trader Joe) for $3.99 a piece! Yeah! :)

That's all I have right now folks.

Miss Genevieve

Small bean has been missing our Wisconsin kitty something fierce lately. So the other day when I was perusing Craig's List for nothing in particular, an ad for a kitty jumped out at me. The offer was for a rescue kitty who loved little girls in particular and my heart did a little flip flop.

Today we took a short drive and went to pick up our new family member, Miss Genevieve Oatmeal (she likes oatmeal, I'm told).

She's been here less than 2 hours and already feels like a permenant fixture. When small bean layed down for a nap, Genevieve hopped right up and joined her and they are both blissfully making zzz's.

Beth, thank you from the bottom of my heart for rescuing this kitty and being such a generous spirit to give her to us (and PS, I meant to tell you how much I loved your wall...and your shoes!) :)

Writing

Small bean likes to write letters on her board, and we keep showing her how to make different words. But she's never done a word just out of the blue on her own. I'm a little late with this post, as she did this about a month ago, but thought it was worth sharing.
One day I walked by the board and looked and I asked daddy bean if he had showed her how to spell Dora, he said no. I said me either. She had copied it off of a book! Then upon closer inspection I realized she'd done it backwards once and written ODRA once...hehe. So cute.
